Evaporative cooling for hot climates

The Tow and Blow Wind machines is now available for use as a portable evaporative ventilation system. Water emitted from very fine nozzles spraying in front of the fan produces a rapid drop on temperature. Simple garden hose is all that is needed using approximately 2 litres of water per minute.

Perfect for cooling dairy cows or any animal affected by the heat. Whether they be situated inside or outside. The portability of the Tow & Blow means it can be taken from the shed to the field or wherever it is needed, cooling a significant area, and increasing production by reducing heat stress in animals. Humans are happy too, as the Tow & Blow is such a fantastic ventilator, making working with animals inside a lot less smelly!!

Air movement is strong enough to stop flies from irritating animals and humans.

Evaporative cooling uses heat from the air to vaporize water. It results in a reduced air temperature. Evaporative cooling can be useful even in very humid climates.
In addition to cooling the air flow over animals, a significant amount of cooling can take place by simply getting an animal wet and providing air flow over the animal. The water comes in contact with an animal’s skin, and as the water evaporates, heat is removed directly from the animal. To evaporate water, heat (energy) is required. In fact, to evaporate a gallon of water requires almost 8,500 BTUs of heat. The heat comes from whatever the water is in contact with as it evaporates, including the air itself. As the heat is removed from the air the temperature is decreased. You can test this theory by putting your hand in a bucket of warm water, when you pull it out, your hand feels a slight chill as the water evaporates.

The Tow & Blow is able to full rotate through 360 degrees or oscillate through any angle. The boom can be lowered for blowing through sheds, or raised to a height of 8 metres. The fan head can be angled as required. Tow it behind your tractor or quad to where you need to use it.
